Early Support After a Recent Concussion.
Had a knock to the head in the last few weeks? You may have been told to rest, but you still don't feel like yourself. The Acute Concussion Package is an active approach to your recovery: five days of structured support for your brain and body, then guided care from home. We measure your symptoms at the start and the finish so you can see how you are going in real numbers, not just a feeling. Get in touch as soon as you can.
A concussion is a brain injury. Please follow New Zealand head injury guidance, and if symptoms are severe or getting worse, seek emergency care straight away.
A concussion affects your whole system, not just your head.
Rest and a proper assessment are an important start. But a concussion can also affect how your brain, body and nervous system function, which is why you might notice headaches, brain fog, fatigue, broken sleep, light or noise sensitivity, or changes in your mood. A growing volume of research overseas is looking at what happens underneath those symptoms, including inflammation and the brain's energy production.
The Acute Concussion Package takes an active approach to supporting those systems in the early days, alongside the standard care we always encourage you to have. As they settle, many people notice clearer thinking, steadier energy, and better sleep and mood. Everyone is different and we can't promise a set result, but the goal is simple: to help you feel more like yourself again.
We measure your recovery.
From day one we record your symptoms using a validated concussion questionnaire (the BIST-2) alongside your own top symptoms. We repeat them at the end of your five days and again at follow-up, so you can see your scores side by side in real numbers and know how you have responded, rather than relying on a hunch.
“Concussion recovery doesn't have to be passive. We focus on what's happening underneath the symptoms, and on what you can actively do to support your recovery.”
Your five days with us
Everything is structured for you, so there is nothing to organise on your own. After your five days, you continue at home with short video guides and a weekly call from your health care assistant.
CVAC® sessions
5 x 20 minutes. Five sessions in our CVAC® unit (Cyclic Variations in Adaptive Conditioning), a pressure pod session that is the active core of your week with us.
FLOWpresso® sessions
3 x 20 minutes. Three full-body compression sessions with far-infrared warmth, spread across your week.
Neuronic® light sessions
5 x 3 minutes. Five brief light-based (photobiomodulation) sessions, tailored to you.
Your supplement kit and nutrition
Your supplements are prepared for you, with a clear schedule for exactly what to take and when, handed to you on your first day. Clear, practical food guidance is included too, with optional one-on-one help from our in-clinic nutritionist if you would like it. If we recommend additional nutritional support, it is scripted to you at extra cost.
Your movement plan
Light activity that supports your recovery, guided from day one and built around what you can handle.
Measured before & after
We record your symptoms at the start and finish using a validated concussion questionnaire (BIST-2) and your own top symptoms, with weekly check-ins and a full review. You can see your before-and-after in real numbers.
How it works, in three steps
A simple, structured process that takes you from your first appointment through to guided support at home.
We assess and set your baseline
Before anything begins, we take your history and record your starting point: your symptoms, a validated concussion questionnaire, and objective measures such as phase angle and Zibrio balance. This is what your recovery gets measured from. We also ask you to choose a support person, a partner, family member or friend, ideally someone who can come to your first appointment. Concussion can make it harder to take things in and to notice your own red flags.
Your five days in clinic
Your sessions run across five consecutive days where possible (we work around the weekend). You attend CVAC®, FLOWpresso® and Neuronic® light sessions, guided by our clinical team. Your supplement kit and schedule are handed to you on day one, and your movement plan is guided from day one. It is all structured, so there is nothing for you to figure out.
We re-measure, then guide you from home
At the end of your five days we repeat your assessment so you can see your before-and-after side by side. Over the following weeks you continue at home with short video guides and a weekly call from your health care assistant, finishing with a full review. If anything is still lingering, we will map out your next step.

Look after your head first.
A concussion is a brain injury, and some symptoms need urgent medical attention. Please follow New Zealand head injury guidance at all times.
If you experience a severe or worsening headache, repeated vomiting, weakness or numbness, trouble speaking, a seizure, or increasing drowsiness or confusion, please seek emergency medical care straight away. Concussion can make it harder to notice your own red flags, which is why we ask you to choose a support person to help you through.
Comprehensive Assessments
We encourage every concussion patient to have a full concussion assessment early. This includes your balance and eye movements (vestibular), your neck, and a behavioural optometry check where needed, usually through a concussion clinic and ACC. These sit alongside what we do. Our role is the physiological support that is often hard to access elsewhere, and we are glad to work in with the rest of your healthcare team.
Return to Sport Guidance
Even if you feel back to normal, research shows that brain metabolism and cellular recovery can take up to four weeks after a concussion, even once all symptoms have gone. So we do not recommend returning to sport before four weeks, regardless of how you feel. We do not clear anyone to return to sport. That clearance must come from your team doctor or concussion medical team after proper assessment. Give your brain the time it needs to recover safely.
Common Questions
Quick answers on timing, cost, what to expect, and working alongside your doctor.
As soon as you can after a concussion. The sooner you are able to start, the better, so get in touch and we will book your five days in and work around the weekend. If you have any red-flag symptoms, please seek emergency care first.
No referral needed, feel free to contact us directly. We are happy to work alongside your GP, your concussion clinic and your ACC pathway.
The Acute Concussion Package is $99 a week for five weeks, or $449 if you pay upfront, and AfterPay is available. That covers your five days with us and the weeks of guided support at home. It includes all your sessions, your in-clinic nutritional support with instructions, your tailored movement plan, and weekly check-ins and a full review. Pricing is indicative and we will confirm your exact price when you book. We may also recommend additional nutritional support, scripted to you at cost.
Your five days with us do the heavy lifting. Over the following weeks you continue at home with short video guides and a weekly call from your health care assistant, so the momentum keeps going. If anything is still lingering at your final review, we will map out your next step.
Bring full (top and bottom) thin clothing and a pair of socks. If you would rather not, we can provide clothing for $10. Finish your last meal at least an hour (ideally more) before your sessions, so you do not arrive too full. Your supplements are included and we will give you the schedule on your first day. Payment is completed in advance, and your consent forms will be ready to sign before we begin.
We ask you to choose one: a partner, family member or friend. Concussion makes it harder to take things in and to notice your own red flags, so having someone alongside you helps. It is best if they can come with you to your first appointment.
Everyone responds differently, and we cannot promise a set result. As the systems the injury disrupts settle, many people notice clearer thinking, steadier energy, and better sleep and mood. We measure your symptoms before and after, so you can see how you are tracking.
This package is designed for the early days after a concussion. If your symptoms have been there for months, please reach out for ongoing concussion support. We have had patients with past concussions who still benefit.
We do not recommend returning to sport before four weeks, regardless of how you feel, because brain recovery can take longer than symptoms do. We do not clear anyone to return to sport. You will need clearance from your team doctor.
No. We work alongside them, and we will always encourage you to have the standard concussion assessments as well.
Ready to get support underway?
Before booking, we ask all new patients to complete a short application, so we can make sure we are the right fit for you. It only takes a few minutes.
